Big Tree Top is working with parents in Old Trafford, Manchester, aiming to promote communication between parents and children in the community, and to encourage literacy amongst children.
Big Tree Top was established in 2009, and is working to develop links and projects with other agencies.
What we do:
We undertake research focussing on the experiences of parents and families in Old Trafford. We work in close partnership with local service providers to identify ways to improve service delivery.
Providing information and advice
We provide information to assist families to improve access to local services and gain support. We support community parent support workers and trainers to provide advice to families.
Providing training and resources for parents
We provide free resources for parents and families through our web site which offers links to web-based information. We provide face-to-face training which supports our information work. Parents can register and receive access to free resources and opportunities to discuss improving children and parent communiction. We provide events, art, craft and drama workshops, and wellbeing.
Projects and campaigning
We use our research to contribute to project development within the group and to increase public awareness of the importance of communication for parents and children.
